Jacaré-mirim means little crocodile in Guarani Indian and, through it, in Brazilian Portuguese. This animal can bite but is not really mean and in any case too small to be dangerous.
The same is true of this little Tango Brasileiro, which is more entertaining than difficult or long to perform, with its 2 themes framed by an introduction and a coda.
But be careful all the same!
NB: Composed shortly afterwards, another Brazilian tango, O Trenzinho (‘The little train’) is very close to this and is almost a twin composition, although a little more modern, difficult and long, this time with 3 distinct themes.
